Well hello, we meet again, and today has been a day where progress has been sought, and indeed, caught. I got up bright and breezily at about 11 (I had been reading and doing useful things till about 2) and changed my bedding. No more red stripes. Back to the 2 tone blue and beige/green/sludge colour. I believe some use the word khaki. After this event, I decided to write off, by writing up, the Russian translation, making alterations as I went (i.e. changing dodgy bits). Once that was firmly in the folder I decided to try my hand at a spot of cooking. A simple tray was all that sufficed, as well as the oven of course, and hey presto, a sausage sandwich was mine for the taking. After lunch, a spot of Russian translation occurred. Nothing much to report on that. A stroll into the town of Exeter followed around 4 post meridian. WHSmith was duly visited; Woolworths and Next too. Christmas is Next. That's their slow-gun. I say gun, because that's what it makes you want when you read it. Some of the lights in Exeter are good. Others, are very, very tacky. Presumably hand-me-downs from Gloucester or somewhere. I ventured home as the shops were beginning there closing period. Upon arrival I exchanged knowing nods with the new neighbour (presumably a landlord). He was sweeping anything he could see. The stairs were ascended once again, and Russian translation re-commenced. I don't want to here the word 'cloning' again. Not wanting it to get the better of me, I swiftly moved onto Russian precis. Lady Di was the topic of conversation. I thought I'd give up for now. I had dinner. Again, a simple tray arrangement sufficed. Two trays this time. One for the chips (and they were many in number) and one for the bits of poulet. Actually, regarding that comment about the chips: I suppose I should say 'great' in number, as what else could they be 'many' in. Well, it's 8 post meridian and Rosie is due to arrive and escort me to Sainsbury's or Tesco, whichever takes our fancy. Take it easy, don't have nightmares - do sleep well.
