Yesterday was a pretty good day to be fair. I was annoyed at myself at first for getting up so late (1ish) and missing out on the sunny weather. But it was sunny till 5, so I got a bit of a tan in. I went into town and walked around the St Thomas area a bit. Came back to my house and played online pictionary. Then I got invited to replace one of Rosie's housemates at a Burns Night celebration run by John and Cathy, some scots at Belmont, who I'd never spoken to. Fortunately, I knew several other people there. There was about 20 of us in total. It was excellent. I'd never had haggis before, and they really pushed some boats out last night. The cock-a-leekie soup was probably the best soup I've ever had. Rosie said she was 'stuffed' after just the soup. I tried the vegetarian haggis, but I wasn't so keen on that. By comparison it was sweet and tasteless. It was a cross between stuffing and porridge. I expect if I'd not got the stronger taste of the natural haggis in my mouth it would have been fine though. The haggis just slipped off my plate. Not literally. Mind you, Nat's soup slipped off her plate... We had tipsy trifle and cranachan for dessert. Definitely recommend. I tried Diet Iron Bru too. I liked it a bit. I wouldn't mind going to Scotland now.

We went there in the Panda, and it made it no problem. It was a bit embarrassing when we left though. They live on a posh small estate of virtually brand new executive detached homes. The sound of the Panda's cold engine being revved up and squealing is probably not the sort of thing they're used to round those parts. It echoed nicely off the houses and detached double garages.

Going to Dartmoor in half an hour. If I don't make it back, you'll know where I am.
