Right, well today was my 22nd birthday. I had trouble waking up, but I got up about 10.30 in the end. I had already woken up about 3 times as fanmail-texts came in thick and fast while I was asleep.
Made it to Belmont and met Rosie and her housemates. We sat nicely right at the back on the farside.
After church we walked back to mine so I could pick up another jumper. It's cold here in Exeter now. We then drove to Rosie's where she cooked lunch. She did pizza, grated carrot, tomatoes and chopped up lettuce. Ideal for the more mature person I have become.
Unwrapped my presents in the afternoon. My family all seem to have played it safe - a £10 note from my Gran, and a cheque from her sister Kathleen. Nothing from any other family members yet, but my Mum did say a card was in the post when she phoned me yesterday. Rosie got me a bin for my room, and the new Dido album. Rosie's family sent me some photo frames and a chocolate orange (I haven't eaten any of it yet).
After this, Rosie asked me for the 4th time if I'd like to go to the Freshers' squash on campus, so I took the 'hint' and said 'yeah, why not?' We legged it there and looked around. There was a budgie jumping machine. £30 a go. Madness. Some guy did it.
We walked back to Mount Pleasant towers and had a drink before driving Rosie's panda pops round to Rebekah and Paul's house. Very strange typing 'Rebekah and Paul'.
Rosie and Gavin had organised to go to Teignmouth in the evening. We went to some traditional kind of sea-side town pub and had dinner. It was pretty good. Gavin had gammon with ketchup...with pineapple too. I had cottage pie served in a dog bowl with chips.
After dinner we went to the beach because Rosie had a candle for me to blow out and someone had the idea of making a cake out of sand. To cut a long story short, it went pearshaped. The wind blew the match out. Eventually in a sheltered spot, the candle was lit, and I blew it out.
Then we drove back to Exetershire, and went to Paul and Rebekah's again. It's the house that Gavin, Mark, James, Andy, Paul and Mino lived in last year. Rebekah actually has Gavin's old room. There are lots of random people there now. Paul for example.
Rosie and I came back to my house for a bit and looked at the stars...stuck to my ceiling. Someone must have stuck them there years ago. They've been painted over, but they still show up in the dark. After a bit, we drove to her house for me to pick up my presents and walk home.
Did some dull stuff when I got in, like writing cheques for tuition fees and re-arranging clutter.
