Sorry not to have blogged lately, some gremlins in the system. Mike has sorted them out - hats off.

Thursday - hmm, something must have happened. Oh yes, I went up to campus with Rosie to do stuff. The sort of stuff that can't be put off any longer. And I don't mean shaving. I'm talking about asking questions about oral exams, and seeing if the apple doughnuts have changed since the second year. Thankfully, they haven't.

We had a fair shot at going to the Careers Office. We got inside, only to be told they were going to close for lunch. Honestly, they should be open 24/7.

In the afternoon Mike cooked 5 pizzas (4 of which were deep pan) for the CU grub-crawl that evening. Also a couple of kilos of pasta. I helped a bit, but I was finally getting my ironing done. After this, I went into town, just to look round again. The novelty hasn't worn off yet.

When I got home we started to get ready for Freshers to arrive. We had two groups coming at separate times. They didn't start arriving till gone 7.30, by which time most of our house were keeled over in the lounge with hunger pains. We had tidied up and put on lots of fairy lights. Sounds romantic. Looked more Habitat than Cafe Rouge though. We should make the effort more often though.

In the second group, there was a French girl. She said she didn't have much money, and her averages were limited. No one seemed to know what she meant. But the word for average in French (moyen) also means a means or way of doing something. I tried to explain, but no one seemed to understand. I blame the teachers. Or perhaps the fairy lights were a distraction. The French girl said she liked my French accent. I think she was being ironic. Either that or moronic.

Once we'd washed up (for the second time) I headed into town, because Rosie wanted to go for a random walk in the dark. It was good, we walked quite a way.
