Today Rosie went home, despite valiant efforts by my Dad to delay her departure by a day. She said she wanted to see her family, and the new kitchen. Once she'd gone, I went to get the bits of wood I couldn't get on Thursday. This afternoon, I took a bookcase to some people at church, and then came home and helped my Dad in a rather hands off way to build a cupbaord in my brother's old room. It's a bit of a beast. It's nearly the same size as my room... So, when guests come to stay, they can bring all their clothes now. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

So this week's job is to paint the room. The planned colour scheme is a rather safe one - magnolia walls, white wood-work and a dark red carpet. Better than the previous apricot-pink carpet and Laura Ashley flowery wall paper. Mange tout, Rodney.

This evening, my parents, brother and I went to a restaurant near his house on the lower high street, which was shockingly good. It is quite new. Part of the regeneration thing I believe. The reason for going wasn't for the food particularly, but for the jazz, as my Dad and brother are into it a bit. Il pleut this evening, stood in a puddle, d'oh.

Not many people on msn. Come on, log in...
