Sorry for not blogging for a while (but then, let's face it, how many of you bothered either) riooow. Well, what have I been up to? If you're in a rush, probably not worth reading. But it might just strike a cord somewhere.

Tuesday. Tuesday is the second day in the week (in my opinion) Hmm, but what happened? Presumably not much. I finished painting the en-suite bathroom, and it looks ok. I have a feeling I went into town too. And I phoned good old SWEB for another bill as the first one never arrived. But the second one still hasn't either. This country. I went into town to pay in a cheque from the ever efficient (well, usually) Michael Emerton. I thought I'd cash it straight away so he didn't get caught out when he checks his balance, unlike some people I give cheques to who seem to cash them about a month after I send them. I also helped my Dad a bit building a cupboard in the porch, and put some stuff in the loft. As you can see, Tuesday was a bit dull, but efficient.

My brother has moved back into the house. His contract ran out. And he has no money to live alone. He thinks he'll be here for 4 months, but parents are guessing a year. His room looks different to when he left it, as it had a complete makeover at Easter.

Well Wednesday, what happened? It was only yesterday. I started decorating the downstairs toilet. First job was removing the 'freeze' I put up in 1998 or so. It took a while. Then quite a bit of filling and general prodding around. In the afternoon I got bored being in the house so I started to cut the grass (outside). I stopped halfway to go with my Dad to pick up his new car. He was delayed on the way at the solicitors less time than he thought, so we had to kill an hour or so. We went to Currys to looks at TVs as the one in my parents room is on its way out, apparently. I think they bought it when I was about 3 or so, so it's lasted nearly 20 years, although it must be said it has played second or third fiddle since 1993 when it was ousted from the lounge in favour for one with a screen you could see without radar. It looked very out of date 5 years ago, as it's silver. But it looks quite trendy nowadays. What goes around comes around. So we went to pick the car up. I doubt I will ever drive it; I wouldn't dare, certainly for the next 10 years or so. I thought the old one was posh enough. It is very good though, although somebody forgot to fit back doors! We came home. I moved the Cavalier off the drive to make room for the new car. I have to say, it did feel like an old man's car. A very old man's car. The sort you find on ebay for sale by a relative following a death in the family. But in isolation it still feels alright. Maybe I should move to Oban or something. It gets me around no problem, touch recyclable plastic.

In the evening we went to my Gran's. She had a look at the car. She kept slamming her hand on it and banging it with her ring. The headlight blew. Nothing to do with her though (probably).

Today I have been decorating the toilet again, as it were. Everyone is out. Siblings are at work. Mother is presumably shopping and father is getting the headlight sorted out and errands. The dog's asleep on the sofa. Waster.

The reuters job I might have got has gone to someone in the company. There's a small chance I might get their job though, but I have a feeling I'll be decorating for years to come...

Strike a cord? That sounds unlikely.

Yes, quite.
