Yesterday was a good day. I went down to Exeter, and stopped off at Ikea, near Bristol. I bought some stripey bedding for my house in Exeter next year. I had lunch in the cafe there. It was very good value. 5 meat balls and chips for £1! Not bad, eh? It was good, too.

I decided to look for a place I stayed at on holiday when I was young somewhere in the middle of nowhere between Taunton and Exeter. I found it eventually. It's changed lots. I followed a 51 reg Volvo S40 on the M5, and the driver was obviously intent on destroying the engine, as it was really pumping out black smoke, a bit like those things you got at discos in the 80s, only this smelt even worse.

Had a good evening with Gavin. We went to the Imperial for dinner. I had spaghetti bolognese and he had some plaice with bread on it. For pudding we both had belgian waffles. Mine was different to Gavin's though, in that, for some reason, mine was covered in parsley...

Quite tired now, so I'll write Rosie an email and go to bed.
