Alright? It's been a busy weekend. Rosie came on Friday evening and we went to Greedy's fish and chip shop in Stow on the Wold and sat and chatted on the benches outside while it got dark. Which was nice. We went for a bit of a drive after as we were still chatting.
First thing on Saturday we polished some more of her Fiat Panda, which was hard going as the paint is pretty dead, quite frankly. After this we drove into the Forest of Dean, passing very near to Gloucester. We stopped in Cinderford I think for lunch, which was tricky, as there wasn't lots of food, especially for vegetarians. We drove on to Symonds Yat which is nice. I had some banana cake and Rosie had a piece of caramel shortcake I think.
In the evening we went for a meal in Chedworth, a small village nearby, which was quite nice. The meals were shamefully large. But it was nice.
Today we went to church, and an old friend Andy was there. He's not old really, maybe 23 or so. I hadn't seen him for 3 years. He's been in China teaching and doing general Christian stuff, so it was good to catch up a little bit.
My Gran and Kathleen (her sister) came round for lunch. I got the topic onto Theatregoers trips, which my Gran used to run. She described a phonecall she had to a main Theatregoers Company person, where she said she wanted to offload Gloucester from the area she was responsible for. She explained the phone call: "Hey, you try filling even a small coach with people from Gloucester to go and do these theatre trips! There's no appreciation whatsoever. The place is a cultural desert I tell you! Wasteland." I asked her if she had any friends in Gloucester, and she kind of squinted and questionned: "You mean, in Gloucester. Oh no, none." It was classic.
Later on Rosie went home and then I went to church again. It was all about Bosnia tonight. Rog and Sue who go to our church live out there now, and they were telling us about the people they've met and stuff.
Tomorrow, I'm probably not doing much, but I might start decorating the porch.
