Hello there. Well, I'm pretty washed out, and have been most of the week. I've got a cold and my voice sounds very strange. Only one more homework and one lecture to go to Christmas now though.
It was the university carol service at St James' Park (football ground) on Tuesday evening. Lots of people came. Just over 4,700 apparently. I'm not a huge carol fan, but it was good. The talk was good, but might have pushed the boundaries a bit of how evangelical it could have been at a carol servcie. Everyone kept saying it was cold, but I wasn't. And that's by English standards. I'd like to have seen the poor little darlings hang around for an hour in Russia at -29. There were free mince pies. Afterwards, everyone was invited to Belmont. I don't think they were expecting that many people to come, but when we arrived, the room in the downstairs of the new building was packed and they'd run out of the first batch of mulled wine. They made some more though. It wasn't really mulled wine. It was more kind of hot cinnamon juice. There was no alcohol in it. It was still pleasant, despite looking like tea. There were lots of heated up mince pies. I even managed to locate and destroy a homemade one.
Last night was good too. Rosie came round to dinner and then we walked to her car (I was very careful not to go in the house though, what with it being a Wednesday and all that...) We took the Panda for a chug around the city, exploring new roads and spying on where people we know live. There was madness in the method though, as we didn't really go around the city in a logical order. The plan was to give the radiator a bit of a challenge. We put another pot of that stuff to seal small holes in again. The coolant doesn't seem to be going down much now at all. Maybe it's ok. Predictably, it's not getting anywhere near as hot so quickly now either.
My housemate Mike is off home tonight, so Christmas really has got going now. He had a roast turkey Christmas meal last night for selected friends and housemates (I'm not bitter) (joke). He's very kindly volunteered to make a curry for us with the leftovers this evening.
Going into town soon to meet Rosie for a little while before she goes home to her house Christmas meal. I might get her present while I'm in town. Au revoir.
