Well it's been an action packed few days, and we've been out and about a fair bit.
The drive here was action packed, as the engine on the Panda reached 120 degrees on the Oxford ring road. We had to stop for 10 minutes, but luckily the traffic could crawl around us. Eventually the cooling fan decided to work and the traffic died down so we were ok.
On Saturday, we cleaned the passenger seat in the Panda. After this I went with Rosie, Rosie and my Dad to Ikea in Bristol, to buy some uplighters for the dining room. They're only £5.90 each! After this we went to Burnham on Sea, near Weston-Super-Mare. We were only there for 45 minutes or so though, as Rosie and I were babysitting for Andy (the guy I work with) in the evening. Babysitting wasn't too difficult really, mainly because the babies were aged about 12 and 9. We played Boggle and then they went to bed at some amusingly early hour like 20:30. Rosie and I watched that Quiz the Nation program which was quite good. We drank lemonade too, well, I did, Rosie went for tap water.
On Sunday we went to church in the morning, and then to my Gran's sister Kathleen's flat for the afternoon. We had beef bourgignon. Kathleen had made Rosie her very own hand made cheese and vegetable dish, which she said was good. In the evening we went to church and later on Rosie and I went for a drink at The Norwood in Leckhampton, and then drove around town a bit. A bit like 17 year olds in a Vauxhall Nova, only we were in a Vauxhall Cavalier, and we're 21.
On Monday we headed for Gloucester, but we had overheating troubles again. So instead we went to Twigworth Breakers (scrap yard) between Gloucester and Tewkesbury. Quite a good place. We picked up a thermostatic switch for the radiator as we think that's what's at fault. No one was sure if it was the right one though. We made it to Gloucester, and wandered around the cloisters in the Cathedral (where Harry Potter was filmed). We had lunch in the Orchid there, which was good. After this little lot we went back to the civilisation of Cheltenham to meet Faith, with whom Rosie is living next year. We came home and looked at the car, and cleaned the drivers seat, and other things like the steering wheel. My Dad played around with the wiring for the fan and it came on, and it seems to work a bit better now. Later on we went for a drink at The Ryeworth with Bish and Emma, who have just got engaged.
Today, we hoovered out the Panda, which was very tricky, owing to the ridged carpet which seems to have been designed for dirt to grow and collect in. We also cleaned the wheels and scraped some rust off them. We went to Sainsbury's to buy some petrol and then drove up to Cleeve Common to look at the view and generally to go there. Rosie had a strange giggly fit, which was quite amusing. She said it was the air. Maybe it's my hair, it is a bit amusingly messy at the moment. She's gone home now. I'm doing small things for the rest of today, as I've not been alone as it were for a week now. Will write again soon, bye for now.
